Pergamon
Now in present-day Turkey, Pergamon, a city founded on a hill that overlooks the Caicos plain, dates back to the 8th Century BC when Greeks colonized the area. Among many things, it is noted for being the place where parchent was invented which lead to Pergamon becoming one of the cultural centers of it's day. Also notable is that it is one of the Seven Churches of the Revelation.
